I think I was exactly there when I found Thunderhead, the rare EP find that feels like the clouds clearing up and a new road getting paved right in front of you: no more noise, no more confusion, just direction, even if the destiny remains a mystery.
Indie prodigy Kinjiro Sifert, AKA Kinji has got something really special here, the kind of cohesive project that feels like the nurturing of a beloved child, a child that now gets to see the world for the first time and through that, inversely, the world gets to know him.
Carrying one hell of a production team behind it, Thunderhead showcases a very personal tale that surrounds you and takes off with you in a 24 minute flight across a vast soundscape full of little surprises, a retro sound, a harmonious ambience and an incredibly sweet leading voice that gets you hooked at different points throughout. My favorite track personally has to be romp, the very last track of the EP, with a rythm that you can't help but sway to, and lyrics that resonate with the modern hint of gloom, against a backdrop of resilience, it really is something of a gem.

Also just a week ago from the time of this post, Kinji released a live performance of his track silas which is just a must watch if you have listened to the studio recording and want more, as the live recording perfectly encapsulates the vibe and doesn't shy away from letting nature get in the way with all of its own beautiful sounds.
