Oh the beauty of jazz, it may come as a surprise to some of you that today's highlights partains to this genre, but I find that I cannot stress enough how much a good piece of jazz can be a delight to even the biggest pop-heads out there.
Rue Jacobs, self presented LA pianist and composer has created an immaculate set of tracks in his latest album "Emily" a 31-minute long tour throughout Rue's dedicatory to his own mother. Through that lens not only is Emily a touching proof of a career over 6 years in the making, but also the most sincere form of home an artist can produce, going beyond flowers, memorial photos or the stories told, the melodies and core leitmotif prove to carry a whole other layer of meaning and care, and for this Emily is not "just another jazz performance" as many might listen and think "elevator" or "lounge" music, rather a testament of the fact that there's always a story.
