what a treasure it is to find artist who arrange their music in lesser common ways, in the case of H.Birdbath, this comes in the shape of a dual EP release: Tales of Certainty and Tales of Uncertainty, two sides of a coin; with the value of a diamond.
From the city of Berlin, the dutch artist Hansje de Vries, known artistically as H.Birdbath showcases an 8 track alt-folk performance that is surprisingly diverse all while maintaining a clear identity and per EP cohesion: as the names imply, Tales of Certainty shines in a more optimistic, reassuring beat while the counterpart, Tales of Unertainty delves into a slightly darker, more contemplative tone all throughout.
Accompanied by a brilliantly trippy music video that is fittingly intimate, Eden's Nest is the stand out track from Tales of Uncertainty. With excellent attention to detail, each instrument surrounds you with a natural flow that made it clear for me I had to write about this project the moment the bassline hits, all while the accompanying film is giving off that "homemade" energy that stands out in the modern world of overproduced and hyper-sanitized content.
